On the morning of May 12, 2015, the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, the Honorable Steven Blaney, introduced The Removal of Serious Foreign Criminals Act (Bill C-60), which proposes amendments to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act that will have implications for protected persons and persons seeking protection in Canada.

… introduced legislation that will streamline the removal of foreign nationals who commit serious crimes in Canada, allow for the mandatory transfer of foreign criminals back to their country of origin, and render foreign criminals ineligible for a record of suspension. This will ensure more effective removals of foreign criminals from Canada.
