In light of Express Entry putting so much focus on education, this can be a serious issue for many applicants. In fact, if an applicant does not have an education credential assessment, no point is awarded under Comprehensive Ranking system under Express Entry – the applicant may not even get invited to apply for permanent resident application in the first place.
But if an applicant has a Ph.D. from India, it may not count for anything under the Express Entry system, which leads the applicant potentially loses up to 170 points. No invitation to apply means no permanent resident application under economic class, unless there are other alternative options other than express entry system for applicants.
