Since January 1st, 2015, over 25,000 profiles were submitted. As of May, roughly 28,000 people are in Express Entry pool to be drawn by CIC. Roughly 158 applicants were nominated by provinces and territories via Express Entry system and over 8,000 candidates were invited to make their application for permanent resident status. Currently, the “average” score in Express Entry pool is about 370 points. The draw on April 17th, 2015 has the lowest score of 453. The range of the score is between 30 (CIC has no idea how this was registered because it was too low) and 1200 (perfect score by “Ms. Alice In Wonderland”).
CIC admits that there are a number of technical problems – for example, a Canadian spouse must disclose all information as if she or he is an applicant! If you withdraw your profile, you cannot re-start, but you must re-create your profile completely. If you are selected and received an invitation to apply, you cannot add a representative to assist you because you cannot transfer your profile to your representative. CIC is working on all these technical issues and hopes to upgrade the Express Entry System within the next two months or so. However, some items are intentional in their design. For example, you cannot put more than 30 trips out of Canada. Your work history is only up to 10 years in the past from the date of your profile. Your birthday will update your age automatically.
Out of 8 draws made as of May, only one draw was specifically for Canadian Experience Class. Thus, the main way for draws to be made is strictly on your comprehensive ranking score – the higher your CRS, the higher your chance to receive an invitation to apply. CIC do expect more than 50% of 2015 economic applicants would be via applications received before December 31, 2014. CIC anticipate the beginning of 2017 as the target date that all economic applicants would be drawn via Express Entry.
2015 appears to be a testing year for Express Entry system – stay tuned for all the changes expected in coming months. You have to wait until 2016 to see some regular systematic procedure, but until then, you must be flexible and versatile to meet all the anticipated OR unanticipated changes in Express Entry system.

I have 371 points what are the chances for immigration to canada or I should try another country
It is difficult to answer this without knowing your situation. It depends on how you got the score and whether you could increase in future… I would recommend a consult before you make a final decision. Take care and all the best.

Hi Jennifer,
Are we allowed to show stock investments inside a TFSA as proof of funds while applying for PR through express entry? There is some ambiguity about this so I thought it’ll be good to ask you. Please help!
Kind regards,
Rohit Menon
We can’t offer much of a comment here; except to suggest that you ask your accountant. That is not an immigration issue, but more of an accounting or an income tax issue. Take care
