Ontario Provincial Nominee Program

Ask Jennifer: I am in Ontario, How can I access the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program?

Although immigration law in Canada is federal, every province has its own special immigration programs. These programs are designed to select immigrants based on the province’s needs. For Quebec that may mean French fluency, or for Nova Scotia it may be a career in fishing. Ontario has 14 different provincial immigration programs so to figure out which one is for you, you must look at your qualifications. For example, one program is designed for students in Masters programs in Ontario that want to continue their education here as a Canadian citizen. Take a look online at all the different options and try to find one that fits best, and watch the video below to learn more. A large majority of the Ontario provincial nominee program is closed for 2016 until Jan 1, 2017. Only French speaker and economic Streams are still open.
